Join our 2024 First Saturday Sampler program!

Introducing our NEW 2024 First Saturday Sampler program!

Celebration Sampler Quilt - January 2024 to December 2024.

The more you come into the shop and participate, the more you SAVE!

This sampler program includes 20 blocks for JUST $14.95! Add your own background fabric, sashing, center design, and border to make it your own. (If you save ALL of your fabric, and cut correctly, you will have enough to make the center portion). OR pick a panel to add to the center! Your own creative choice!

All you need to do is participate each month on the days we host our First Saturday Sampler events!

NEW - choice of scrappy colorful quilt or a blue and white quilt!

SIGN UP TODAY!

Here's how it works:

Sign up for the $14.95 kit on our website or in person starting on Jan. 6th, 2024.

Arrive between 10 am - 1 pm on the first Saturday of every month. Mark your calendars! This program does not include sashing, batting, backing, or binding. NOTE - save leftover fabric from each month for future blocks.

We provide the fabric for each monthly kit and that month’s pattern. To receive the NEXT month’s kit and pattern, bring your block to the shop on the 1st SATURDAY and show us. We would love to take a picture of you and your block to put on our Facebook page!

You will then receive your next kit and block pattern. Remember - there is NO CHARGE for this next block, if you bring in the previous month's finished block on the next 1st Saturday. The second one is on us! It’s our gift to you!

Keep it going as long as you can to qualify for the next month’s free block/kit! If you miss one of our first Saturday events, just pay an additional $14.95 in the store or online (you can “get back on track" this way).

Option #2

Whole Quilt Top $185.00

Cannot commit to First Saturdays? We’ll provide the entire quilt top for you! This includes all of the patterns and fabric to make this quilt top. As a bonus, we’ll provide the fabric for sashing and binding - an entire quilt top!

Schedule with 2-week pick-up notice.

(Finished quilt approximately 66" X 87" finished quilt top). Backing and batting are not included. Contact us to arrange a pickup date. We’ll have everything ready for you to pick up, organized into 12 kits (with every pattern attached to each kit for convenience). Simply let us know colorful quilt or blue & white.

Pattern Only $35

Option #3 is $35 for the pattern by itself

Do you want to use your home fabric stash and make a Scrappy Quilt with this pattern? We’ll provide an entire packet of patterns for you to pick up at one time. Sign up online or in person at the shop, and we’ll get your packet ready!

What happens if I miss your first Saturday event one month?

You simply pay $14.95 to get back into the program, and we’ll give you the next pattern and kit in the series. Life gets busy! If you forget that day or need to be out of town, no worries. The $14.95 fee will get you back into the Saturday Sampler program.

Please note - We cannot accept photos emailed as a substitute or a “proxy” (friend/family member) to bring in your block - unless you wish to send $14.95 with your proxy. Alternatively, you can pay $14.95 to catch up at the NEXT Saturday or anytime during the month (if you don’t have someone to bring in your completed block).

Our gift to each participant is a free monthly kit when we see our customers at the shop and celebrate their ongoing progress. It’s so motivating to be a part of a community of quilters working on beautiful projects!

Contact us in advance to pick up your missed pattern/kit anytime that month for $14.95 by emailing info@zigzagcorner.com. We’ll prep your kit and have it ready for you to jump right back in! You can also select postage payment for a mailed kit.

What happens if I join months after your Saturday Sampler has started?

We’d still love to have you join! Be sure to sign up online and call the shop to get started at (317) 326-3115 or email catalog@zigzagcorner.com. We will go back to “block 1” and have our staff make up kits you may have missed so you can get caught up - contact us to make arrangements. Example - If you join three months into the program, sign up for $14.95 and then pay the “catch-up fee” of $14.95 x 2.

TIPS - Start with the biggest squares first and keep ALL your scraps. Do not wash your fabrics. These are considered pre-cut fabrics. Wash your quilt once it’s completed, longarmed, and bound.

Once you are on track, remember to attend the first Saturdays, between 10 am - 1 pm. Bring your completed block to show us! You’ll receive a FREE kit/pattern for the next block.

HELPFUL TIPS

Welcome to our 1st Saturdays

Celebration Sampler!

2024 is our year to celebrate and share our love of education! We’re excited to share this creative journey with you! Please take a look at the following helpful tips and information to keep us all on the same page.

The 1st Saturday sampler is intended to showcase different techniques.

As in anything in life, there is more than one way to get to our destination.

  • Background: Pattern Calls for 7/8 yard – ZZC recommends 1 yard
  • Sashing: Pattern Calls for 1 1/8 yards – ZZC recommends 1 ½ yards
  • The fabric you will receive in your kits is considered a precut fabric.
  • We recommend you do not wash precuts, as they will shrink.
  • You will have extra fabric each month - save it for future blocks!

Remember, there are no quilt police!

  • you can make your quilts bigger, or multiples of them
  • If you do not like the fabrics in your kits, you are welcome to purchase different fabrics from our store.
  • There will be more than one way to assemble your top. Additional instructions will be available in Dec. 2024.
  • I CHALLENGE YOU TO BE CREATIVE! That’s what makes life fun!

You can request to join our special FB group to share progress and enjoy our community of quilters on the same journey!

Zig-Zag Corner Survey Results!

Take a look at our Zig-Zag Corner Quilts Survey Results! It was fascinating and informative to review the survey results that our daughter Victoria compiled for her AP Psychology class! We're so proud of her as she wraps up her senior year of high school!   A survey was sent out through weekly newsletters and social media for several weeks and 73 customers responded. This provided helpful feedback on the customer service of Zig-Zag Corner Quilts & Baskets! Question Results: The first question on the survey was “How did you hear about us?”. The majority of responses (34.2%) selected "online" and the fewest responses were "newspaper ads" at 5.5%. Of the 11% who chose "other", it's expected that some of those surveyed may have simply noticed the large business sign while driving along State Road 234. Question two asked individuals to rate the store’s general location.  As a rural store, Zig-Zag Corner is more of a destination shop - less likely fo
